APPLICATIONS FOR 29th CAT SHOW – Sunday 8th May 2011

The Malta Feline Guardians Club, MFGC, invites you to register your cats to be part of the 29th International Cat Show. The show is to be held on the 4th Floor of the Bay Street Complex in St Julians on Sunday 8th May. This is an additional show to the MFGC Cat Shows and the Club is offering free entrance to all visitors. This show would also be the last show before the summer. Sunday 8th May is Mother’s Day and many other events would be taking place in Bay Street that Sunday. Thus a large number of people would been expected at Bay Street that day and it is therefore anticipated that many of these would visit the Cat Show.

The Club has invited WCF all breed judge Mr Andeas Mobius from Germany, to preside over the judging. All cats would be presented before the judge and he would examine your beloved feline for level of grooming, distinct markings on its coat, breed, character of the cat and other distinguishing features. You, the exhibitor, would then receive a ribbon and a written report from the judge on the standard of your cat.

The judge would be judging all the beautiful cats from various categories set during the show. These categories include a Specialty Ring, held for distinct features within each different class of feline and three Show Rings. All pure breed felines, be they kittens, adult or neutered cats, can participate in these Rings.

The judge would also be selecting the General Best Cat in Show. A task both delightful yet near impossible to decide between one exquisite feline and another!! The winning cat would be eligible to compete for the Master Title in a show later in the year. The Master Title is amongst the most coveted award a cat may receive.

To honour all mothers including feline mothers, the Club has set the theme of the show as ‘D Love of a Mother’. The exhibitors, are invited to decorate their cages according to this theme. The judge would also be choosing ‘the best decorated cage’.

It is anticipated that a wide variety of feline breeds would be adding to the splendour of the Show, amongst which there would be your own cat! Feline breeds such as Persian, Exotic, Sphynx, British Long Hair, MaineCoons and Russian Blue are to be exhibited. The Club also welcomes and encourages the participation of the Maltese Domestic cat, always a firm favourite with the public and exhibitors alike.

This show is kindly sponsored by Royal Canin and supporting sponsors Micabliss Persians.

Anyone requiring further information can contact a committee member on 99990022. Applications can be downloaded from the MFGC website

The Club also wishes to inform potential exhibitors that should their cat not hold a WCF pedigree, the exhibitor may still register their cat to take part in the show as long as the cat is registered with another cat club in Malta.

The committee members would be at the show to help the public with any questions they may have. They would also be taking applications for the next Cat Show and for membership to the club itself. The club also wishes to announce that it is registering litters and cats.
