The Malta Feline Guardian Club, MFGC, is renowned both for its Cat Shows of high caliber and for offering other delights to all Cat lovers. Thus, as a special treat, on Sunday 8th May, the Club would be setting up the 29th International Cat Show in the fourth floor of Bay Street, St Julians on Sunday 8th May.
The show is open to the public between 10am and 6pm and in honour of Mother’s Day, entrance to the show will be FREE. This would also be the last show the club is presenting before the summer break, the next show would then be held towards the start of October.
A wide variety of cat breeds from Persians, British Long Hair, Exotics, MaineCoons, Himalayans, Sphyx, Burmillas and other feline breeds are to be exhibited along side the much loved and welcomed, Maltese Domestic Cat.
Mr Andreas Mobius, a well renowned WCF all breed judge from Germany, has been invited by the Club to preside over the judging. Our beautiful cats would be competing in the various categories set during the show. These include a Specialty Ring held for distinct features within each different class of feline and three Show Rings. All pure breeds felines, be they kittens, adult or neutered cats, can participate in these Rings.
Mr Mobius would also be selecting the General Best Cat in Show. This honoured feline would then be eligible to compete for the Master Title in a show later in the year, a title amongst the most coveted that a cat may receive. All visitors are invited to vote for their favourite cat. The judge would choose the best cage, decorated to the theme ‘DLove of a Mother’ . This theme has been chosen to honour all mothers, feline mothers too!
