The Malta Feline Guardians Club, MFGC, honoured Mother’s Day by holding its 29th International Cat Show on Sunday 8th May at Bay Street, St Julians. This was also the last show that the club would be presenting before the summer break.
The many visitors were treated to visions of feline beauty. On exhibition were Persians, British Long Hair, Exotics, MaineCoons, Himalayans, Sphyx, Burmilli and the Maltese Domestic Cat, which boasts an equal standing in the hearts of both exhibitors and visitors. It was not only the visitors that were enchanted by the feline display. Mr Andreas Mobius, a well renowned WCF all breed judge from Germany, invited by the club, was too most impressed with the standards of both the show and of the competing cats.

Awards for the varying categories were given to the many deserving felines. The top award of General Best Cat went to Micabliss Calvin Klien owned by Ms Cencina Debono. This adorable feline also scooped by the award for Best of Best Kitten. Best in Show and Best of Best was won by Long Hair Persian, Micabliss Issota belonging to Mrs. Malvina Cecarelli. Alex, owned by Natasha Camilleri, was judged the Best Pet in Show. Our heart felt congratulations to all the winners and their beautiful felines.

The President of the club, Mr Kevin Charles Micallef, extended his thanks to the show sponsors, Royal Canine who, not for the first time, has lent its support to the Club’s Cat Shows.
