Dear Cat Lovers,
The Malta Feline Guardians Club, MFGC, would like to invite you to register your cats to be part of the 27th and 28th International Cat Show. This spectacular event is to be held in the splendour of the Ballroom of the Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana on Sunday 27th March.
This much anticipated event is being presented as ‘two international cat shows on one day’. Therefore all the exhibited cats would participate in two judging sessions. The Club has invited two WCF all breed judges, Mr Antonello Bardella from Italy and Mr Andeas Kretschmer-Kraiczek from Germany, to preside over the judging. All cats would be presented before one judge during the first show and before the other judge during the second show. When presenting your cat to the judge, each judge will examine your beloved feline according to the level of grooming, distinct markings on the coat, breed, character of the cat and other distinguishing features. Each exhibitor, will receive a ribbon and a written report, from each judge, as regards the standard of the cat in general. The judges will be judging all the beautiful cats competing in various categories during the show. Besides the Best In Show, there will be two Specialties to award distinct features within each different class of feline and three Show Rings ie. the Adult, Neuter and Kitten ring respectively. All pure breeds felines, be they kittens, adult or neutered cats, can participate in these Rings. The winning cats place first and second in each ring. The winning cats from each ring will be eligible to compete for the Master Title in a show later in the year. The Master Title is amongst the most rewarding award a cat may obtain. The theme of the show is a ‘Funfair’ and the exhibitors are invited to decorate their cages according to this theme. The judges will be choosing ‘the best decorated cage’. The judges would also be selecting the General Best Cat in Show, a task, which is not so easy to do. A wide variety of feline breeds will be participating. These include: Persian, Exotic, Sphynx, British Long Hair, Maine Coons and Russian Blue are to be exhibited. The Club also welcomes and encourages the participation of the Maltese Domestic cats, which is always a firm favourite with the public and exhibitors alike.
This show is sponsored by IAMS, Eukanuba and Sapori with the supporting sponsors Micabliss Persians. The club is also offering all exhibitors a chance to win a weekend break for two at the Baystreet Hotel!
The MFGC would like to inform the public that applications are now open for anyone who wishes to have his or her cat take part in this show…..and due to this having the opportunity to obtain a prestigious title. All entries must be received not later than the 18th March. Late entries, after the 11th March, would incur a 10% increase in the registration fees.
Anyone requiring further information can contact a committee member on 99990022. Applications can be downloaded from the MFGC website http://www.maltacatshows.com. The Club also wishes to inform potential exhibitors that if their cat does not hold a WCF pedigree, the exhibitor may still register their cat to take part in the show as long as the cat is registered with another cat club in Malta. The committee members would be at the show to help the public with any questions they may have. They would also be taking applications for the next Cat Show and for membership to the club itself. The club also wishes to announce that it is registering litters and cats. For those wishing more information regards pedigree and cat registrations kindly contact the club’s LO secretary, Rodianne Caligari, on 79632236 or 21632236. We look forward to sharing this day with you and your lovely feline.
