Dear cat lovers,
The Malta Feline Guardians Club (MFGC), is announcing that the applications are
now open for the first show of 2016!! The 56th and 57th International Cat Show, is being held on Saturday 6th February from 15:00pm to 19:00pm, and Sunday 7th February, from 10:30am to 18:30pm, at Smart City Malta.
The 2 day show will be judged by two all breed judges-
Mr. Carl-Heinz Knelangen – WCF All Breed Judge (Germany)
Mr. Tomas Balchiunas – WCF All Breed Judge (Lithuania)
Applications are to be sent by e-mail on [email protected] or via our Facebook page Malta cat shows, by no longer than the 25th of January. All participating cats must have a registered pedigree with the club, along with other valid documents. Any other information can be obtained through our website www.maltacatshows.com
The show will be split in 5 main categories-
- baby- for kittens between 3 and 6 months
- kitten- for kittens between 6-10 months
- adults- for cats which are 11 months and over
- neutered- for cats which are over 11 months and neutered
- domestic- for cats which are not pure breeds.
All cats are welcome in our show, whether pure breed or not. Once judges have seen cats from each and every category, they will then decided which cats to nominate for the finals, where one cat from each category will compete for the title of general best in show. This will then be repeated in the second show, and at the end the two winning cats (of the general best title) will compete together for the prestigious title of Super general best. Adding to all this, we will also have a total of 6 WCF rings- 2 for kittens, 2 for adults and 2 for neutered. Speciality rings including best groomed cat, best eye colour and best facial features will also be taking place throughout the show. In this show we will also be awarding the ‘Best cat of the year’ award, which is a prestigious award, given to the cat which obtained most points throughout 2015.
Participating cats are also competing for the best Facebook cat competition. In order to vote for your favourite cat, one must enter our Facebook page Malta cat shows, hit like, then enter the album called Best Facebook cat, and like your favourite cat/s!! Awards will be given on Sunday evening!
