36th International Cat Show

This summer is already showing us signs of immense heat, and this is just a start, this season is for some a period of relaxation and a break from work, but not for The Malta Feline Guardian Club, MFGC, as we have been planning for a colossal return. Our Club is acclaimed both for its Cat Shows of a high criterion and for offering other satisfaction to all Cat lovers. Thus, as a special treat, on Saturday 27th October, the Club would be setting up the 36th International Cat Show at The Point, Tigne Point, Sliema.

The show is open to the public between 10.30am and 6.30pm and entrance to the show will be FREE. There will also be a reduced price on Car Park at Tigne Point for all those who will be showing their cats. This would also be the first show the club is presenting after the summer recess.

A wide variety of cat breeds from Persians, British Long Hair, Exotics, MaineCoons, Himalayans, Sphinx, Burmillas American Curl, Kurilian Bobtail, Siberian, Siamese, Thai, Ragdoll and other feline breeds are to be exhibited along side the much loved and welcomed, Maltese Domestic Cat. Mr Cesare Ghisi, a well renowned WCF all breed judge from Italy, has been invited by the Club to preside over the judging. Our beautiful cats would be competing in the various categories set during the show. These include a Specialty Ring held for distinct features within each different class of feline and three Show Rings. All pure breeds felines, be they kittens, adult or neutered cats, can participate in these Rings. Mr Ghisi would also be selecting the General Best Cat in Show. This honoured feline would then be eligible to compete for the Master Title in a show later in the year, a title amongst the most lusted for that a cat may receive. The judge would choose the best cage, decorated to the Halloween Theme.

The committee members would be at the show to help the public with any questions they may have. They would also be taking applications for the next Cat Show and for membership to the club itself. The club also wishes to announce that it is registering litters and cats. For those wishing more information regards pedigree and cat registrations kindly contact the club’s LO secretary Roberta Micallef on 99990022 or on her email [email protected]

We look forward to welcoming you to our show and spending Abominable Saturday with our feline marvels.
