Upcoming 50th & 51st International Cat Shows

Dear cat lovers,

Everything is ready for the MFGC 50th and 51st International Cat Shows, which will be held at Daniel’s Shopping Complex, Hamrun on Saturday 11th April, between 09.30am and 18.30pm. The show will consist of approximately 50 cats, including breeds such as Persians, Maine Coons, Devon Rex, Exotic, Sphynx, Ragdoll, Abyssinian, British Short Hair and Kurillian Bobtail, with both local and foreign exhibitors.

First and foremost we would like to thanks our sponsors for this show, Pro-plan Purina, and Versele-Saga. Without sponsors our great shows will not be able to take place. The show will be judged by two all breed judges- Ms. Elena Federenco and Ms. Marina Shuravleva, both of which are
coming from Russia just for this show. The show will be made up of 5 main categories- Baby- which are kittens between 3 and 6 months of age Kitten-which are kittens between 6 and 10 months of age Adults- which are cats over 11 months of age neutered- which are cats, also over 11 months of age but neutered household pet- which are non-pedigree cats All household cats during the show, will be judged and examined but the judge just the same, where eventually the top cats will be chosen, and the best household cat will take the title. As for the other 4 categories, The best of best from each categories will chosen individually by the judges, and then the General best will be the biggest winner in the show.

Another General best will be chosen in the second show, and then both winners, from the 1st and 2nd show, will compete together for the grand title of Super general best. All this is very exiting for the exhibitors and also very hard work for the judges. It also always enjoyed by the
public present during the judging! There will also be 3 main WCF rings-kitten, adult and neutered, following some speciality rings such as best solid colour or best tabby markings! But this is not all, while we know that the pure breeds are being pampered, we are also thinking of those less Fortunate, but not less special cats, in sanctuaries.

With us at the show, we will have members of the CSAF, collecting any donations such as food, kennels and toys, as well as selling CSAFmerchandise in order to raise money for their cat sanctuary. Also, we will be having members from other sanctuaries such as Thomasina, with cats that are up for adoption. So, I strongly urge you to come over to Daniel’s shopping complex, enjoy the show, donate anything you can to CSAF, and if possible, also adopt a homeless cat!!!
