Grand International Cat Show

The Malta Feline Guardian Club, MFGC, is proud to announce its upcoming Grand International Cat Show, which will be held on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December at the Phoenicia Hotel, Ballroom Suite, Floriana. This will be the 2nd and 3rd show for this season, as 2 separate shows will be held, one for each day.

The show is open to the public between 13pm and 7pm on Saturday 10th and between 10am and 6pm on Sunday 11th. The public is more than welcome to join us in this rare experience, as not 2 but 3 South African Judges will conduct the shows, which is a first to our Club. Our beautiful cats would be competing in the various categories set during the show. A wide variety of cat breeds from Persians, British Long Hair, Exotics, MaineCoons, Himalayans, Sphinx, Burmillas and other feline breeds are to be exhibited along side the much loved and welcomed, Maltese Domestic Cat.

Our beautiful cats would be competing in the various categories set during the show. These include a Specialty Ring held for distinct features within each different class of feline which will this time be the Christmas Kitten which is one of the most expected speciality ring throughout the year and three Show Rings. This year 2 will be the masters coming out from this category. All pure breeds felines, be they kittens, adult or neutered cats, can participate in these Rings, which will then lead to the Master ring.

Our 3 South African judges will also be selecting the General Best Cat in Show. This honoured feline would then be eligible to compete for the Cat of the year Title, on Sunday, a title amongst the most coveted that a cat may receive. All visitors are invited to vote for their favourite cat. The judge would choose the best cage, decorated to the Christmas Theme.

The committee members would be at the show to help the public with any questions they may have. They would also be taking applications for the next Cat Show and for membership to the club itself. The club also wishes to announce that it is registering litters and cats. For those wishing more information regards pedigree and cat registrations kindly contact the club’s LO secretary Roberta Micallef on 99990022 or on her email [email protected]

We look forward to welcoming you to our show and spending Christmas weekend.
