As 2014 draws to an end, we at MFGC (Malta Feline Guardians Club), will be concluding it with no less than the Grand International Cat Show 2014!! A fantastic two day show, which will be held at Daniel’s Shopping Complex Hamrun, on Saturday 13th December from 10.30am to 18.30pm, and Sunday 14th December from 10.00am to 18.00pm. This extraordinary, enchanting show will be judged by 3 International all breed judges- Mr. Daniel Germishuys from South Africa, Mr. Deon Scheepers, also from South Africa, and Mr. Walter Baraldi from Italy. These 3 judges will have a difficult time choosing the best cats from several different breeds, such as, Persians, Exotics, Maine Coons, Sphynx, Ragdolls, Abyssinian, Devon Rex and even Domestic house cats. Exhibitors from Malta, will also be accompanied by other exhibitors from Russia, Italy, Germany and the UK. Several prestigious titles will be given out during the show, including WCF Adult, Kitten and Neuter Ring, Best Christmas Kitten, and a Persian Speciality Ring held on Saturday. However, it’s easy to say that the highlight of this show will be the long awaited WCF Master and Double Master Ring. In this ring, all cats which obtained a 1st or 2nd place in any ring during the year, will compete for the final overall best cat. Whilst in the Double Master Ring, all cats which have previously obtained Master title, will compete together again for a double Master title, which will be added in front of their name on the pedigree. Needless to say, the judges will have a difficult time choosing, while all the exhibitors will be on edge. A domestic housecat title will also be given on both days, to any participating in the show.
Apart from all of this, we will also be having with us, volunteers from C.S.A.F (Caring for Stray Abandoned Felines), who will be collecting any sort of donations, monetary, food or bedding, for homeless cats in sanctuaries. So I urge you to donate anything you can while enjoying the show.
Also at Daniel’s Shopping Complex, a show from the Malta Herpetology Society will be taking place, displaying several different reptiles, insects and amphibians.
