Dear cat lovers, the Malta Feline Guardians Club, MFGC, is proud to announce its 19th International Cat Show to be hosted at the Phoenicia Hotel, on Sunday the 21st March. This show is set to follow the resounding success of the 17th and 18th International Cat shows by the club at the Phoenicia Hotel last January. During this show over 70 beautiful cats are to be exhibited with more than 12 different breeds on display.

Visitors may admire these magnificent felines ranging from the enchanting Persian to the Oriental style Siamese, as well as the beloved Maltese domestic cat.

Dear Members,
While I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate every one for the great improvement we are seeing at our shows regarding your felines’ grooming, I feel we are still lacking in the second most, if not the most important, part of the show, the Best of Best. Of course the judging is important to get your cat nominated, thus it must be in optimal condition, but to get so far and than be beaten because your opponent has better knowledge of cat handling is such a shame.

To start this special year with a bang and to have the chance to thank everyone personally for their help throughout the five years which the club has been established.

As being the president of the MFGC for these past five years, I would like to give my best wishes to you all, I mean not only to the club's members but also to all cat lovers. First and foremost I would like to thank all the committee' members for their hard work in these 5 years. As a Club we are so proud that with all the problems we have had to face every day, we can say that we are still going on and working very hard. After 5 years of hosting and preparing for local Cat Shows, International Cat Shows and Seminars it's not easy to achieve what we had achieved till today. We are proud to say that in the past 5 years we have already held 12 Local Cat Shows, 16 International Cat Shows and 9 seminars. This is why our club is Malta’s leading cat club and was the first to work towards cat welfare and good breeding programmes. We are also working very hard in the preparation for a World Cat Show to be held in Italy in two months time. This is to be the clubs second World Cat Show as in 2008 the club helped organize a World Cat Show in Belaria.

The Malta Feline Guardians Club, MFGC, held its Grand International Cat Show at the SAS Radisson, St Julians, on the 21st and 22nd November. Such a prestigious show is held once yearly. This was the last show that the club presented for 2009.



Both shows were very well attended. Over the two days the visitors were captured by the beauty and grace of the many breeds of felines participating in the show. They were amazed at the dedication and love their owners lavish on their cats. The exhibitors were, on their part, greatly satisfied with the standards of excellence set during the show. The theme of the shows was Magical Creatures. While no creatures were more magical than the beautiful felines being exhibited, the committee members entered into the spirit of the theme by giving the hall a magical aura.
